Christmas Questionnaire

I loved way back when, when we'd have little "introduce yourself" posts to learn more about each other. I'm pretty sure that you know pretty much everything there is to know about me, since I've been blogging for LONG time, but there are so many new bloggers and I thought this might be a fun way to get to know y'all in with a little Seasonal Survey.  If you want to join, just grab the little button above and answer the following questions like me.

Hot Chocolate or Eggnog?
Hot chocolate. Just the name eggnog makes me want to gag! But now hot chocolatey, marshmallow goodness, now that's all me!

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
When I was growing up he did both. Now that I have my little monkeys, he wraps, unless it's HUGE. I think I'm going to do something different this year. I'm going to wrap all the boys presents in brown paper with Christmas ribbon. I found these adorable tags from Santa at Living Locurto and I bought these stickers from Chickabug as well.
Colored lights or white?
I know it's boring but I love white. I love to decorate and add color.

When do you decorate?
I usually have Thanksgiving, so I try to keep my fall decor out for that, but the day after Thanksgiving is a must for decorating. Now my mom, is another story. Her tree goes up the day after Halloween. :)

Real or Fake Tree?
We had a fake tree that was just pitiful, so last year we bought a real one, that was straight out of Christmas Vacation. It blew up in our living room and I you couldn't walk.  I bought a million lights and it didn't even come close to being lit, so we through it out after 2 days and I bought this beautiful 10 foot pre-lit! I love it.

What Tops Your Tree?
A bow. And y'all we are short folk, so getting it up there is no easy feat! I need to remember next year to put it on before putting the top of the tree up.

Favorite Christmas Memories or Traditions?
When I was little it was going to Winter Fest at our local amusement park. I loved every minute of it.  I also loved going downtown to see the trains and Christmas decorations. My new favorite Christmas traditions are going to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo and doing Random Acts of Christmas Kindness.  I got the idea from my friend Cara and it's really my favorite thing about Christmas!
Festival of Lights

Do you remember your favorite gift as a child?
When I was little I played teacher and cashier all the time. I would literally put price tags on everything in my room.  One Christmas I got a real cash register. I thought it was the best gift on earth.  Man was I the talk of the school. My very own, straight from Sam's Club cash register.  It was a BIG deal.

Do prefer giving or receiving?
Giving! I would buy gifts for everyone I know if I could afford to. I get so much happiness giving to others. I think that is why I love our Christmas Random Acts of Kindness so much.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
Mary Did You Know? They sing it every year at church at the end of mass, and I love it!

Candy Canes. Yuck or Yum?
Just alright. I don't dislike them all that much, I just don't love them either. Unless maybe they are Swedish Fish flavor or something other than peppermint.

Favorite Christmas Movie?
Christmas Vacation

Do you shop online or at stores?
Both! We all know, I love to shop. I will say Amazon Prime saves my life every Christmas!

Photo Cards, Letter or Store Bought Card?
Photo cards. I love seeing pictures of all my friends kiddos!

Now it's your turn! Link up below.

  6. Aaawww... I forgot that you are near Cincinnati. I love going to the Festival of Lights! The last time I went, the Madcap Puppet Theater did the cutest puppet show ever! My bottom about froze watching it, though! I haven't been in a few years. Maybe I'll go again soon.

  7. I can't believe I missed this the first time around! I just saw where you posted about WINTER FEST! OMG! :-) I used to love Winter Fest too! I remember wishing I could go ice skating on the ice but my parents wouldn't let me! And freezing because it was so cold! I wish they still did Winter Fest. :-(

  10. Getting your very own, real cash register sounds UH-MAZING! I too would have gone bananas as a kid if I had gotten that. I use to love going to the store with my mom & watch them scan the stuff & hearing the beep & all those buttons. At the age of 4 I was aspiring to be a cashier, then I went to school & it was teacher from there on out. Thanks for doing this, reading these are so much fun. On my way to link up.

  13. When I was a kid, I remember going to Winter Fest also! We passed there the other night and the tower was all lit up! Oh! I wish they would do that again! Have you ever been to Christmas Ranch? We went last night and it was really cool and perfect for our little girls.
