Cute Fall Ideas!

I’m so sorry I’ve been so neglectful of this little blog. School is just consuming my life lately.  Darn Ohio and their 15 new initiatives in one year.  I’m trying to keep my head above water and promise I will catch up soon and be back at it.  Until then, here we go!
Well, I’m pretty darn excited for fall.  It means farms, pumpkins, leaves and Halloween! Yippee. I can’t wait for the fun ahead.  I love decorating for fall, pumpkin patches, football game and sweaters!
Last week we learned all about the farm. Y’all have seen my farm activities, so I’ll spare you the pictures, but we do have some fun! This week we learned about weather.  This was our first nonfiction shared reading book, so we discussed the text features of nonfiction, the difference between fiction and nonfiction and practiced identifying details under each heading the text.  If you want my Weather Shared Reading plans, CLICK HERE!  You can also find other weather freebies here
We have also been using Brainpop Jr. to introduce the new reading topics. My kiddos love them and they explain so well.
It was also Homecoming Spirit Week. One of the days, was Duck Dynasty Day.  Here are two of my sweet kiddos. Hilarious!!!
I have also finished my morning menu for 2nd grade for the month of October and November. This is a great alternative to worksheets and is also an option for fast finishers.
I’ll be back soon! I can’t wait to post pictures on Monday!
I’m going somewhere very fun!!!
