A Look Back and a Sneak Peek

Hi Y'all. I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm still sick as a dog and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Let's pray I don't have to do sub plans. YUCK.

I thought I'd give you a little look at our week last week and share my plans for this week as well.  There are a ton of freebies linked to my visual plans every week, so click away!

Last week we read Pete the Cat and reviewed color words.  We also talked a lot about character, cause and effect and moral.

Here was our poem for the week.

You can click below for my Pete the Cat sheets.

Here are our vocabulary words so far. I love my Word Wizard sign. I drew one last year and a sweet parent painted it for me this year.
We also used a magnetic letters app to make words. I love our iPad cart!
Here are my plans for this week.  There are 6 freebies linked within these plans. Hope they help!

Check out my sweet friend Deedee's Peek at the Week Linky.

  3. So sorry you are sick! I was out with strep last week; there's just no time for a teacher to be sick. :( Get well soon!

  4. Oh boy! :/ Feel better! :( Sub plans are SO NOT FUN! :( Thanks for sharing your Pete the Cat ideas! You know...I've never used Pete in my classroom before! I am going to have to 'get with him'! :) Thanks for these fun ways to approach literacy in the classroom! :)
So glad I found you through the linky! ;)

  7. I always look forward to your peek at the week! My new school uses Lucy Calkins as well. I was curious what your launching writing workshop plans look like. Do you follow what is in the book for the most part?

  9. I am wondering the same thing that Laura asked. Our school just started using Lucy Calkins as well. I would love to see more "plans" for your Writer's Workshop. Any chance you could share those? Thanks a bunch! I love your blog. :)

  10. I follow the book. My plans are just a summary of what each part of the book says for that session. Like a keep in your lap version. :) They aren't mine actually. I found someone who had typed them all out, so I can't really share, or I would. I found them on ProTeacher if that helps.

  11. Hi Michelle,
I love your lesson plans. I too am doing Pete the cat this year as a central theme. When I tried to download the freebies in your plans from the week before I kept getting sent to the lesson plan instead of getting the download like I did when I went to your plans for this week. I really wanted the poem I am fit and book center. Would you have any suggestions? Thanks for sharing.
