Sunday Smorgasbord

It's Sunday and it's random! I just love it because this is the way my brain works.  You can ask my friends. Setting up my classroom takes 12 times longer than it should because I go to get tape for a project on when end of the room and see something else that needs to be done, and start that project.  It's also why writing a blog post takes 5 hours. I look for a graphic, see a sale image for Target and all of the sudden I'm shopping! I'm all over the place. Tell me you can relate.   So this post will be no different.

I'm so sad that summer is coming to a close. Before I know it, I'll be back in the classroom. I really do love my first grade kiddos, but spending time with my boys is so precious.
We've been having so much fun.
My fishermen
We originally bought the Snoopy snow cone machine, but I forgot I still needed my hands to type and that thing about ripped them off. So we bought this guy instead. Thank you 50% off summer stuff at Target. YUM!
 Zoo fun!

And who doesn't love a little Christmas in July and a fun house?

I, of course have been spending a ton of money on my classroom, like always.
And I found these:
Not only are they scented but they are chisel tips!! Chisel tips are my all time favorite.
They make my anchor charts smile!
And hello Target Dollar Spot!  Gotta love these.
I see guided reading word work made easy with these.

I've recently bundled my First Grade Morning Menus. These are a great way to start the day and not the same old worksheets. With the menu, you don't have to worry about kids who enter school at different times, or about passing out worksheets each morning before your students enter. And if you already have a morning routine, they are also great to use for your "Fast Finishers".  I've included "Fast Finishers" covers and notebooks as well.  You can click below to grab the whole year at a discounted price.
Also, due to many requests, I'm working on the second grade version as well. It should be complete in the next couple of days.

There is still time to help the DeWitt family.  Your help means so much. I know Lt. Jon DeWitt is smiling down on all of the teachers that are helping to ease his families' burden.  To read more about the fundraiser or how to donate, click HERE. I'll be ending the fundraiser on Wednesday. God Bless each and everyone of you who have helped so far.

Have a great Sunday friends.

  1. In my random post I talk about how I'm spending money on my room too! I haven't seen the 8 pack of scentos! I need to hunt some of those to give my anchor charts a little kick.

  4. I have an obsession with chisel tips too! I get grumpy when I can't find mine and have to use the bullet tips. Hope you're enjoying the last of summer.

  5. I laughed when I read your blog- I'm just like you (squirrel!). My room set up takes me forever too- and I put things up & take them down because they don't "look right". I'm looking for those dry erase pockets & scented markers! Fun! Carol

  6. Fun post! I LOVE chisel-tipped markers too! You're right, they make our anchor charts smile! I'm jealous you're close to a Target! The closest one is an hour away for me! I cracked up reading about the Snoopy Snowcone Machine because it totally ripped up my knuckles! Those suckers were sharp! I saw an idea the other day for snowcones that used those "drops" flavors, like Mio.

    Excited to link up!

    Have a great day!

  8. Looks like you all have been having fun! It sounds like I am just like you in the way I "work" in my classroom. My mom often comes to help me, and she gets annoyed, because I am soooo all over the place! It all gets done eventually...just maybe not as efficiently as it could, right??? Thanks for the fun link up!

  9. Oh, I can def. relate to starting one project, only to have something else catch my eye, and I'm off and running on something else. I swear, teaching has most certainly made me ADD.

  13. I am the SAME way when it comes to sitting down and doing something! I am always getting distracted/side tracked. Thanks for sharing these awesome finds! I love how cheap those dry erase pockets are. I can't wait to go out shopping...again.. To find more goodies for my classroom.

  14. I think I set up my classroom the same way you do - distraction after distraction. My mom does her best to keep me on track when she's helping. :)

  15. Number 1 - I can TOTALLY relate!
    Number 2 - I <3 chisel tip {swoon}!
Number 3 - I'm hoping a link back just means a link to you in the post? If so, I think I'm good. If it is something else, let me know...I don't think I can handle being deleted...that sounds sad.

Thanks for doing this link up!
