Bring on the Pumpkins + Faves!

As I’ve mentioned this week is all about pumpkins. I love this time of year and all of the holiday fun we’ll be having through January.  In preparation for centers this week, I made a little word work center on nouns, which is a topic I just recently introduced.  My kiddos will be sorting pumpkin picture cards by person, place and thing and then record their results  on the sheet provided.  If you’d like this center you can click the picture below.

My math center this week will be a little craftivity.  We’ve been discussing geometry and the students have been doing a gobzillion activities with pattern blocks, so I thought our centers should probably reflect this.  My kiddos will each get a pumpkin. They’ll make a their pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern using pattern block cutouts.  When they are finished they will complete the sheet below.  Click the link to grab it for your sweeties.

I also wanted to give a little shout out to one of my favorite blogs in Blogland. If you teach kindergarten you’ll be head of heels in love with Shannon at Kindergarten Hoppenings.  If you haven’t visited her, you must. She has some super cute Halloween centers available right now and that sweet girl shares everything for free. I can’t even tell you how much I’ve downloaded from her and I don’t even teach KDG. I tell everyone I know about her blog. She’s an awesome teacher and going to be a super, fantastic mommy soon!

I’ll be back with more pumpkins soon.
Have a great night!
