In Memory of Sgt. Brian Dulle

I think I’ve mentioned in a previous post that my husband is a police officer.  Not my first choice for a career for my best friend and high school sweetheart, but it’s what he loves to do and I’m very proud of how he serves our community. So… each night as he leaves, I tell him to be careful and pray to our good Lord that he stays safe.  Then each morning as I wake, I thank that same God for watching over him through the night.

On May 10, 2011 Deputy Sgt. Brian Dulle was killed in the line of duty.  Sgt. Dulle lived just down the road and his death has affected many close friends of ours, as well my family.  Brian Dulle left behind a loving wife and three beautiful children. His oldest child Maddie has battled cancer most of her life. She is currently cancer free.

My heart breaks for his wife Abbie and I can only imagine what she must be feeling. Looking at the sweet faces of his children and seeing my own little boys make this loss even harder.

I have created a center in memory of Sgt. Dulle to help his family with the financial hardship they will face in the future.  The Butterfly Foundation is a pediatric research foundation and the reason I have created a butterfly center.  All proceeds from the sale of this center will go directly to the Dulle family. I appreciate your support, and I know the Dulle family will be grateful for your love as well.

  1. I am so sorry for his family's loss, and for your loss as well. I just bought this unit (along with 3 other ADORABLE things you made) and I hope many others buy it too. Thank you for doing this.

  3. Sgt. Dulle's family is in my prayers as are the families of all who were touched by him. My husband is also a Deputy so I also know all too well the feelings of pride, trepidation, and thankfulness. Bless you for providing this wonderful activity to help with the hardships the family is sure to see.

  4. Michelle, you may want to raise the price of this center to $3. TPT requires a $3 minimum order, and this may keep some from purchasing if they don't want have anything else that they desire to purchase. I think it is really great what you are doing.

  5. I will be sure to pick up a copy of this unit. I live here in Cincinnati and have family who are police officers too. It is so hard not to be touched by this news. This is such a nice thing you are doing and makes it easier for others to help out too! 🙂

  6. What a great idea! I live up north in Sandusky and we lost a Police Officer in the line of duty this past March. It was just awful but I was amazed at the outpouring of support and prayers his family and friends received from our community and beyond. Thank you for doing this…although small, it makes me feel good to help out. Prayers to your community.

  9. Thank you, Michelle, for doing this. I, too, have a police officer husband that leaves every night. I say the same prayer each night and each morning. God Bless all that serve our community. My prayers and thoughts go out to the Dulle family.
